The beginning of the journey...
May 2006..notice the cane...In 1998, I was 54 kilos, but the deteriorating right hip from a motorcycle accident in college contributed to the weight gain, though in this photo I was not at my peak weight, that was the fall of 2004 the year my daughter left for college. Did regular exercise & weight training so in this pic, about 63 kilos...almost 139 pounds on a sub 5 foot frame. Officially, I say I started at a high of 64 kilos, the only time I carried more weight was in 1986 when I was pregnant.
January 2009...the journey continues
About 54 kilos...119 pounds....post August 2006 surgery, with the pain gone, I was able to increase the exercise, coupled with a revamped nutrition plan, the 20 pounds came off in the spring of 2007. Two years later, the excess weight has not returned and I have gained muscle & flexibility. Check the Meanderings page as I recount what I did and continue to do to travel the path from flab to fit.
